Athletes of all levels and all ages wear protective mouth guards to help prevent oral injury.
Custom-made mouth guards from Bedford Dental are strong enough to absorb the powerful impact of blows that can be sustained in contact sports, protecting your teeth from being fractured or knocked loose.
Contact sports and other physical activities can present a high risk of oral injury. By wearing a custom-made mouth guard, these risks can be significantly reduced. Mouth guards have been shown to reduce the risk of concussion or severe lacerations to the tongue, cheeks or lips. Our mouth guards offer both protection and comfort and won’t interfere with normal speaking or breathing. In addition to avoiding major injuries, athletes who use mouth guards are also far less likely to suffer from tooth wear and jaw issues.
In addition to standard mouth guards, we also offer night guards for our patients who suffer from bruxism, a common sleep disorder which causes an individual to clench and grind their teeth while asleep. Bruxism can cause excessive tooth wear, jaw pain, headaches and tooth fractures. The likelihood of these issues can be greatly reduced by wearing a night guard.
